Alec Baldwin: Director of photography Halyna Hutchins killed, movie director Joel Souza injured after actor discharged prop firearm on movie set

Director of photography Halyna Hutchins, 42, was transported to the healthcare facility via helicopter and pronounced useless by medical staff at College of New Mexico Clinic, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Workplace.

Director Joel Souza, 48, was transported to Christus St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Middle by ambulance for treatment. Details on his problem had been not released.

“According to investigators it seems that the scene staying filmed involved the use of a prop firearm when it was discharged,” the statement reported. “Detectives are investigating how and what form of projectile was discharged.”

The incident transpired at approximately 1:50 p.m. community time, investigators stated.

“Rust” is a Western film established in the 1880s that stars Baldwin, Travis Fimmel and Jensen Ackles.

E mail requests for remark sent to the film’s output organization and a representative for Baldwin have been not immediately returned.

The Sheriff’s Business claimed the investigation “stays open and lively” and no rates have been submitted.
