Climate justice advocates offer Hope in Resistance with livestream from the Cultch on November 25

SFU General public Sq. and Vancity presenting an on-line forum featuring a few local climate-justice advocates on November 25.

Hope in Resistance will include things like shows from Melina Laboucan-Massimo (cofounder of Indigenous Local climate Motion), Anjali Appadurai (weather justice guide at Sierra Club BC), and Naisha Khan (cofounder of Banking on a Superior Long term). The celebration will be moderated by Nahlah Ayed of CBC Radio One.

“These climate justice advocates will analyze the plans and commitments that emerged from the COP26 climate summit,” reads the celebration info, “and examine the requirement of hope and pleasure in fighting the climate crisis. They will share stories of communities defending their land, drinking water, and climate within Canada and close to the world.”

Hope in Resistance will be livestreamed from the Cultch’s Historic Theatre, with opening and closing words and music from Shamantsut Amanda Nahanee (Squamish, Nisga’a).
