Gogglebox star June Bernicoff dies aged 82

Gogglebox star June Bernicoff has died at the age of 82, Channel four has declared.

The broadcaster explained she was “at home with her spouse and children by her facet” and died on Tuesday immediately after a short sickness – which was not associated to coronavirus.

Bernicoff appeared on the fact Television set clearly show with her late husband Leon.

“As the initially couple to be solid for Gogglebox again in 2013, June and her husband Leon were being a substantial part of the programme’s results,” Channel four explained.

“Their heat, wit and contrasting personalities endeared them to the nation all through the study course of the initially ten series.”

Writing on Twitter, Gogglebox producer Tania Alexander explained: “June and Leon were being the Gogglebox originals & a substantial part of the show’s results. I adored them each. Massive kiss June darling.”

The Bafta-winning clearly show options folks sitting down in their residing rooms viewing and reacting to tv programmes.

June still left the clearly show immediately after Leon’s demise in December 2017 at the age of 83. She went on to compose her initially e book about their 60-year like affair, titled Leon And June: Our Tale.

“Our thoughts are with June’s spouse and children – Helen and Ian, Julie and Marc, and her beloved grandchildren Frances, Sam and Faye,” Channel 4’s assertion explained.

“The spouse and children would like to inquire for privateness at this unhappy time, but would like to thank the hospice employees that supported them and cared for June so incredibly and with this kind of compassion in her final months.”

It extra June was a “remarkably independent, principled female with a vivacious feeling of humour and a substantial enthusiasm for daily life”.

“Inspite of her departure from the clearly show in 2017, she remained a passionate supporter of the programme, viewing it just about every week, and she was in frequent speak to with the output staff.”

The Bernicoffs appeared on the clearly show from their home in Allerton, Liverpool, though June reportedly moved to be close to her spouse and children in Warwickshire past year.

Gogglebox star Stephen Webb tweeted: “Rest in peace our June, reunited with Leon! Without end in our hearts.”

Sky News presenter Kay Burley explained: “So incredibly unhappy to hear that June Bernicoff has died immediately after a short sickness. With each other with Leon, who handed away two decades back, she was a outstanding addition to Gogglebox.”
