Jane Garvey to leave Woman’s Hour

Broadcaster Jane Garvey is to leave Woman’s Hour at the conclude of the year, the BBC has verified.

Garvey has offered the programme, which offers a woman point of view on the earth, given that 2007.

She will now go on to host her own new Radio four sequence in the new year.

“It can be been a genuine privilege to participate in a little part in the history of this extremely unique radio programme,” she said, including how proud she was of its partnership with its listeners.

“On 1 unforgettable day, I interviewed David Cameron in the early morning, and Mary J Blige in the afternoon. There’s no other job like it,” she said.

“But famous folks are not the rationale folks have interaction with Woman’s Hour. It can be for the reason that the programme continue to talks about the topics and troubles no 1 else goes around. I am extremely proud of our partnership with the viewers and the have confidence in they area in us.”

‘Thrilled that she will stay’

Garvey’s new 09:00 programme will start out in April 2021, and will see her job interview “folks with remarkable stories”.

The podcast she also co-hosts with Fi Glover, entitled Fortunately… with Fi and Jane, will move to the broadcast agenda from January 2021 as very well.

Previously this summertime, Garvey’s colleague Dame Jenni Murray announced she was to leave the exhibit soon after 33 several years.
