Former BBC director normal Tony Corridor has mentioned it was the “erroneous judgement” in hindsight not to sack journalist Martin Bashir around his behaviour in the run-up to his 1995 interview with Princess Diana.
“I dependable a journalist… we, the staff, gave him a second chance, and that rely on was abused and misplaced,” Lord Corridor informed the Digital, Lifestyle, Media and Sport (DCMS) committee of MPs on Tuesday.
