Photos: Six People Honoured At Arts Council

The Minister of Youth, Society and Sport, Dr. Ernest Peets prolonged congratulations to Key Kenneth Dill, Marjorie Pettit, the late Ted Ming, Paul and Penelope Leseur and Daren A. Herbert who had been all honoured at the Bermuda Arts Council’s [BAC] Once-a-year Awards Ceremony.

A Authorities spokesperson claimed, “These six Bermudians were celebrated for their substantial contributions to the island’s arts and cultural scene. The hybrid in-human being and digital party took position at the Earl Cameron Theatre, where by the Minister offered awards in the classes of, Lifetime Achievement Award, Founder’s Award, Patron Award and the Earl Cameron Award.

“The recipients have been honoured with the next:

  • Key Kenneth [Toki] Dill, been given the Life time Achievement Award for his enormous contributions as a previous Bermuda Regiment Bandmaster and tunes trainer.
  • Marjorie Pettit also received the Life time Achievement Award for her renowned work with the Bermuda Faculty of Tunes as Director of the Bermuda Chamber Choir and Orchestra and Bermuda School of Music’s Youth Choir.
  • The late Ted Ming, was posthumously honoured with the Founder’s Award. As the previous team leader and lead vocalist of the Bermuda Strollers, Ted Ming was a real ambassador for Bermuda Tourism and a pioneer and visionary in his subject.
  • Paul and Penelope Leseur, obtained the Patron Award, for their incredibly generous assistance of arts in Bermuda and
  • Daren A. Herbert, a rising star, gained the prestigious Earl Cameron Award for his critically acclaimed vocation as a theatre, stage and movie actor.

To those of you viewing from the audience nowadays and to individuals who are viewing just about and on the net, I increase my heartfelt greetings to you all.

I want to also convey my appreciation and effectively wishes to the Bermuda Arts Council for their commitment to making sure that this celebration took position this year.

This situation is notably poignant due to the fact the arts have experienced enormously all through the last two decades of the pandemic. So it is great that we can arrive jointly to recognise and emphasize the worth of art in all its varieties for the duration of this ceremony.

Now we’re listed here to celebrate the recipients of the yearly Bermuda Arts Council Awards.

These are folks who have created important contributions to Bermuda’s creative and cultural landscape around the several years.

Considering that the inception of these awards, we have paid tribute to more than 150 individuals in our neighborhood who have dedicated their lives to shaping and preserving our artistic and cultural heritage.

And we welcome into this prestigious team 6 much more deserving Bermudians.

They are:

  • The late Ted Ming, who will posthumously receive the Founder’s Award. As the former team leader and guide vocalist of the Bermuda Strollers, Ted Ming was a real ambassador for Bermuda Tourism and a pioneer and visionary in his industry.
  • Significant Kenneth [Toki] Dill, who will receive the Life span Accomplishment Award for his immense contributions as a former Bermuda Regiment Bandmaster and tunes instructor.
  • Marjorie Pettit, who is also obtaining the Life time Accomplishment Award for her renowned perform with the Bermuda Faculty of Songs as its Director of New music.
  • Paul and Penelope Leseur, who will receive the Patron Award, for their incredibly generous assistance of arts in Bermuda and
  • Daren A. Herbert, a soaring star, who will acquire the prestigious Earl Cameron Award for his critically acclaimed profession as a theatre, stage and film actor.

All those currently being honoured right now have significantly to be proud of, for they have certainly still left their mark on our Island.

They are 6 deserving Bermudians who have motivated so lots of of us with their creative creativity and passion.

Each and every of our distinguished recipients has in one way or a different formed our community with their creative imagination, dedication and enthusiasm, and we are for good grateful for their contributions to Bermuda.
