Prince Harry accepts apology, damages in UK libel suit

LONDON – Prince Harry on Monday approved an apology and damages from the publisher of British tabloid The Mail on Sunday and its on the net version, MailOnline, in a libel lawsuit relating to posts about his partnership with the British armed forces.

Harry sued Connected Newspapers for libel around two posts printed in Oct which claimed he experienced snubbed the Royal Marines immediately after stepping down as a senior royal.

The posts claimed that Harry experienced “not been in touch” with the pressure given that his last appearance as an honorary Maritime in March, and that military services leaders were being taking into consideration replacing him as Captain Normal of the Royal Marines.

Individually, Meghan is also suing Connected Newspapers for invasion of privateness and copyright infringement around posts that printed portions of a letter she wrote to her father, Thomas Markle, immediately after her relationship to Harry in 2018.
