WATCH: Johnny Clegg honoured with traditional Zulu crossing ceremony

A beautiful movie has been introduced exhibiting the common Zulu crossing ceremony held in honour of SA icon Johnny Clegg. 

Johnny died in July 2019 at the age of sixty six, following a most cancers prognosis in 2015. 

Sharing information of the ceremony in early February, Johnny’s son, Jesse Clegg, posted images from the ceremony which was held in KZN at the homestead of Sipho Mchunu. 

The total-size movie of the ceremony was shared with the media on Wednesday. 

“It is customary in the Zulu society that when a person departs this world that they be presented a dignified burial to information them again dwelling. In the hearts of the Zulu men and women, Johnny Clegg, OBE, OIS (seven June 1953 – 16 July 2019), who was typically referred to as ‘The White Zulu’, was lately bestowed the honour of a common ‘crossing’ in the coronary heart of Zululand,” a press assertion reads.
