NEW YORK (Reuters) – Former movie producer Harvey Weinstein, who was convicted of rape and sexual assault previous week, was transferred to New York’s Rikers Island jail complex from Bellevue Healthcare facility on Thursday immediately after undergoing a technique to crystal clear a coronary heart blockage.

Weinstein arrived in Rikers’ North Infirmary Command part, which houses inmates requiring health care treatment, by midafternoon, in accordance to jail documents. The move arrived immediately after Weinstein underwent the technique on Wednesday, in accordance to his spokesman, Juda Engelmayer.
