Vancouver’s Viaggio Hospitality Group acquires Squamish’s 25-year-old Howe Sound Inn and Brewing

A Metro Vancouver hospitality team has purchased a person of B.C.’s oldest craft breweries, positioned in the Sea to Sky area.

The Viaggio Hospitality Team declared that it obtained complete ownership Howe Sound Inn and Brewing in Squamish.

The craft brewery and 20-space resort was proven in 1996.

The late John Mitchell, recognised as “the grandfather of Canadian craft beer” (who died in North Vancouver in 2019), served as the first brewer.

Mitchell developed the brewery’s primary flavours and recipes, and the company—which serves an array of ales, lagers, and stouts in its brewpub and throughout Canada—went on to win awards at the Canadian Brewing Awards, North American Brewer’s Awards, and the B.C. Beer Awards.

Viaggio Hospitality said in a news launch that it aims to uphold the brewery’s beer model and that “operations will continue to be unchanged for the foreseeable future”.

The enterprise operates Moda Hotel and Hotel at the Waldorf in Vancouver, and the Fulfilled Hotel in New Westminster Ancora and Cibo Trattoria Uva Wine and Cocktail Bar and the Tiki Bar at the Waldorf and quite a few other relaxed dining establishments and bars.

It also has programs to launch a vineyard in Naramata, and a short while ago obtained Birchbank Golfing Class in Trail.
