Noting her “significant contributions” to the Bermuda arts, Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art has formally opened their “Dame Jennifer Smith Legacy Courtyard,” expressing the Courtyard has been named after her to “continuously keep in mind her great guidance in the generation of the Museum.”

Founder of Masterworks Museum, Tom Butterfield stated, “Naming the Dame Jennifer Smith Legacy Courtyard is most correct owing to her extended-standing dedication to Masterworks. It begun with the two of us assembly about lunch at the Captains Lounge in August 1987 when she was then Shadow Minister of Education and learning.
“As Founder it was obvious that her guidance would be vital offered our emphasis on academic gains, giving our island with a lasting place to study about tradition, artwork, heritage and history. Bermuda is for good indebted to Dame Jennifer Smith and we thank her.”
Risa Hunter, Executive Director provides, “Dame Jennifer leaves a legacy by helping to form the Museum we see today and we are immensely grateful to her assistance as an arts patron and ambassador for our island’s training.”
Dame Jennifer said, “Masterworks is pricey to me as an artist. The outside courtyard has extended served as a hub for young apprising artists to meet up with and trade suggestions and recreation although engaging in their artwork training.
“Masterworks is a pivotal stakeholder in the preservation and celebration of Bermudian tradition, and I am appreciative to Masterworks for the honour of owning their beloved courtyard named after me.”
