We may not be able to go out during the national lockdown, but that does not mean that we can’t attend events.

While dealing with the coronavirus, many artists and organisations have turned to virtual events to keep fans entertained.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s a list of shows you can check out.

Friday 24 April

Good Night Friday’s comedy show

The V&A Waterfront is bringing you its second live-streamed Good Night Friday’s performance on 24 April. Look out for the likes of Stuart Taylor, Mel Jones, Kurt Schoonraad, and Rob van Vuuren, performing from 19:00 to 20:30.

Kurt Darren’s My Hart Klop Teater performance

Singer, Kurt Darren, will be sharing an online concert alongside his band on Friday. Tickets are going for R40, and it promises to be fun for the whole family.

Friday Night Quiz

Looking to exercise your brain? Why not join Chris Forrest’s virtual pub quiz?

It takes place every Tuesday and Friday (during lockdown) at 20:00 for adults, and there’s even a kiddies quiz at 13:00.

Saturday 25 April

GoodLuck’s Sunsets & Cocktails concert

GoodLuck will be turning their yard into a music venue on Saturday 25 April, and they’re going big. Twenty percent of funds raised at this event will be used to feed families who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Tickets are selling for R120, and the show starts at 18:00.

Go on Safari

&BEYOND, in partnership with WildEarth, will be taking nature lovers on a virtual safari everyday during the lockdown. The game drives take place twice a day, at sunrise and sunset, in real-time.

Those who are keen on going along for the ride will be guided by experts, and are also able to ask questions.
