Apple secures deal for Scorsese’s next film starring DiCaprio, De Niro: media

(Reuters) – Apple Inc has secured a deal for Hollywood veteran Martin Scorsese’s up coming film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” U.S. media reported on Wednesday, citing sources.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. It is the second big film that Apple has acquired immediately after “Greyhound,” starring Tom Hanks, last calendar year.

The film will be labeled an Apple Initial Film, and ViacomCBS Inc’s Paramount Pics will distribute it theatrically worldwide, in accordance to stories from the Wall Road Journal and Deadline.

Apple conquer rivals these types of as Netflix Inc that had been also fascinated to produce the film, the WSJ reported.

Apple declined to remark. ViacomCBS was not promptly offered for remark.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” is an adaptation of the non-fiction book of the exact same name, by David Grann. The book is dependent on an FBI investigation into the killings of Indigenous American Osages throughout the nineteen twenties.

Scorsese’s last film, The Irishman, was launched on Netflix last calendar year and assisted the firm increase its compensated subscribers in the fourth quarter.
