Art: ‘People amazed I fold paper for a living, then they see it’

Artist Polly Verity says men and women normally cannot feel folding paper is what she does for a dwelling – that is right until they see her spellbinding work.

Ms Verity loves paper and has been “dropped in its landscape” given that her grandfather gave her a ebook on the matter.

“It just acquired me thrilled, the plan that you could choose a sheet of paper and rework it into a 3D item just by folding it,” she reported.

The artist, who is based in Carmarthenshire’s Tywi Valley, reported she “can not get bored” of paper’s tactile, calming attributes and the repeating patterns that feature in a lot of her get the job done.

“I’m wanting for a little something visually arresting,” she explained. “One thing where you sort of go… ‘ooh!'”
