British rapper Ghetts is among a host of U.K. grime legends taking part in by themselves in a new movie detailing the rise of the hip-hop genre.
“From All Odds“, a new project from grime pioneers turned filmmakers guiding films “The Intent” and its sequel, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting’ Walker will convey to the story of a fictional MC, performed by Nico Tyler James, who attempts to make it in the building U.K. grime scene of the early 2000s.
It will star Ghetts and fellow significant grime figures which includes the D Double E, Jammer, Diesel, Maxwell D, Ozzie B and Bruza, as perfectly as Tyrell Morgan and Gabin Kongolo, and singer Miraa Could. Famous grime pioneer J2K will also play a top position as a character named Guv.
The movie, the initially project to be unveiled by the freshly released Motown Data Uk, will centre on the environment of pirate radio, where numerous grime MCs bought their breaks, with depictions of serious-lifetime gatherings this kind of as famed club nights and gigs.
