Lost theater season leads to Geva layoffs | Theater


With its forthcoming season in doubt simply because of the coronavirus pandemic, Geva Theatre Heart laid off a handful of personnel on Thursday.

Geva shut down the next fifty percent of the 2019-twenty season in March. But on July 1, Cuddy acknowledged all those 10 shows had been “not going to happen,” or probably would not happen as introduced. Some shows would be dropped, he said, substituted by other folks that would fit the decreased capability of the theater, or would be safer to create for the actors and viewers.
