Virtual visiting poet Rage Hezekiah shares methods of slaying shame | Choice Events

Writers & Textbooks continues its checking out author collection — albeit pretty much — this 7 days with a Zoom studying by New England-dependent poet and educator Rage Hezekiah, author of “Stray Harbor.” Hezekiah’s poems identify the psychological centers in the body, and are infused with an exploration of how activating the head and the senses by means of mother nature can be a supply of salvation. A central concept in her work is finding out to very own your potential in the earth, and to love oneself — sparked as a child by means of a breadcrumb chase connecting times of fascination and ponder, and as an grownup defiantly reclaiming people powers despite the array of traumas this everyday living inflicts. The event will also contain a conversation with Oakland-dependent poet, journalist, and translator July Westhale.

Writers & Textbooks will host a digital poetry studying by Rage Hezekiah on Thursday, Dec. 10, at seven:30 p.m. The event is totally free to the public, but registration is demanded. Hezekiah also will guide a digital poetry writing workshop, “Slaying Shame: Bringing Wholeness to the Web page,” on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ($twenty five $22 W&B customers). Register by Friday, Dec. 11, at five p.m. at wab.org.
